*The pink cardigan is made with Saga col.302 & Tilia col.322 by Filcolana - [SIZE M].
*The blue cardigan is made with Classic col.638 Indaco by Cardiff Cashmere - [SIZE M].
The Charlie Cardigan is worked top-down, back and forth in stockinette stitch. It begins with the back, worked flat with German short rows to shape the neckline, followed by shoulder increases. After a straight section, increases are worked for the armholes. Stitches are picked up to work the left and right front separately, with increases to shape the neckline. Additional stitches are cast on at the neckline, and the front sections are worked flat to the armholes. Underarm stitches are then cast on, and the body is worked flat to the hem, finished with ribbing. Stitches are picked up along the armholes to work the sleeves in the round, shaped with short rows. For the button bands, stitches are picked up as well and worked in 1x1 rib. Finally, stitches are picked up to work the collar in 1x1 rib.
Size guide:
Size guide:
The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm [31½-33½ (33½-35½) 35½-37½ (37½-39½) 39½-43¼ (43¼-47¼) 47¼-51¼ (51¼-55) 55-59 in].
The Charlie Cardigan has a regular fit and is designed to have approx. 10 cm [4 in] of positive ease, with the larger sizes featuring less ease to ensure a more balanced and comfortable fit. This means the garment’s measurements will be approx. 10 cm [4 in] larger than your bust circumference, depending on the size. Measure your body before you begin to choose the size that fits best. For example, if you measure 95 cm [37½ in] around your bust (or the widest part of your upper body), you should knit a size M. The finished garment for size M is 104 cm [41 in], which gives approx. 9 cm [3½ in] of positive ease.

Alternative yarn: This design can be worked either with a single strand of DK weight yarn or with two strands held together in a sport + lace combination. For a single strand, look for 100% wool at approx. 175 m [191 yds] per 50 g (for merino wool, due to its specific fiber characteristics, yardage should rather be approx. 125–140 m [137–153 yds] per 50 g). If working with two strands, choose 100% wool at approx. 300 m [328 yds] per 50 g (for merino wool, due to its specific fiber characteristics, yardage should rather be approx. 230–250 m [251–273 yds] per 50 g), held together with one strand of silk mohair at approx. 210–250 m [230–273 yds] per 25 g.
