The Liv Sweater is worked top-down in stockinette stitch, beginning with the left and right back sections, which are shaped using German short rows. Stitches are then cast on for the neck, and the back sections are joined to work the back as a single piece. Stitches are picked up to work the left and right fronts, which are worked separately with neckline increases before being joined to continue the front as one piece. Once the front and back are complete, stitches are picked up for the underarms, and the body is worked in the round down to the hem. The hem is finished back and forth to create a diagonal slit, which is edged with an i-cord for a clean finish. The sleeve stitches are picked up and worked in the round, and the neckline is finished with 1x1 ribbing.
Sizes:
Sizes:
XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL / 3XL
The Liv Sweater has a regular fit and is designed to have approx. 10 cm [4 in] of positive ease with slightly reduced ease in larger sizes, to ensure a more comfortable fit. This means the garment's measurements will be approx. 10 cm [4 in] larger than your actual bust circumference.
The sizes XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL / 3XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 80-85 / 85-90 / 90-95 / 95-100 / 100-110 / 110-120 / 120-130 cm [31½-33½ / 33½-35½ / 35½-37½ / 37½-39½ / 39½-43¼ / 43¼-47¼ / 47¼-51¼ in].
Before you begin, measure yourself to determine the right size. For example, if your bust circumference is 92 cm [36½ in], you should knit a size M. If you are between sizes, choose the size based on how loose you prefer the garment to fit. Using the diagram with the finished garment measurements can be a helpful reference when deciding which size to select.
